Andy, How do I know if my child has a fast phase 1 liver metabolism?

Also in the book " prescriptionfor nutritional healing " regarding BHT.

The author states, " some physicians have used BHT to treat herpes.

This can have dangerous consequences, however, especially if taken

on an empty stomach. "

What do you think of this comment?

More questions:

If magnesium is high in the urine and the child shows symptoms of

being low in magnesium should taurine be supplement?

Fast phase 1 people are chemically sensitive, going wild from

fragrances, hydrocarbon fumes like car exhaust or paint thinner, etc.

This is tested for using caffeine (not a great probe) in the Great

Smokies liver detox test.

I do not consider Prescription for Nutritional Healing to be a

credible source - it is the " loyal opposition " to the AMA way. Follow

it and the supplements really DON'T work. I would ignore that comment

unless they cite some specific reference that can be checked up on.

Lots of people take BHT in vast quantity for life extension purposes

(which I have done personally). I have never heard of any problems,

or been given any warnings by people and organizations who actually DO

know what they are talking about.

I would supplement MAGNESIUM in that case. You can toss in some

taurine too if you want to, but if Mg in urine is high he is at least

absorbing it and supplementation should help.

So now I'm wondering - what is the effect BHT on EBV, HHV6, the high

measle titers in some of our kids, etc. Are we looking at something

possibly more effective than the usual olive leaf & monolauren

supplements that some of us are trying i hopes of lowering our kids'

(and our own) viral loads? Anybody seen any research on this?
