Guest guest
Hello all,I have a couple of pups (mutts) approximately 10 weeks of age that have hyperextension of the rear leg (female -- right, male -- left). The female can flex her leg properly part of the time but the patella seems to fly out and then the whole leg is hyperextended all the way to the toes until it seems to pop back in again. The male is hyperextended all the time. I warmed the male's leg with my hands and with very slow movements did get the leg to flex into proper position but the minute you release the leg it hyperextends. All ideas on how to help these pets -- they reside at the local humane society and are looking for adoption which means the potential parents need to know all the risks and problems involved with adoption. Thanks for your time,Dicki Kennedy, DVM, CCRP
