with fruit based enzymes. She's 11 and we give her 2 enzymes with

each meal. However, you may want to start slow and give only 1/2

capsule with each meal to see how the child reacts. Don't give up if

one enzyme doesn't work. Try another.Houston Nutraceuticals has a

great variety. I found that you can mix these enzymes with apple or

pear sauce or juice. Our daughter swallows the enzymes.

Because it's potentially not just gluten/casein that the child cannot fully

digest. When you give an enzyme, you're helping to ensure that all proteins

are digested.

For some of our kids, there are foods that cause greater problems than

gluten or casein. Sometimes those intolerances can be overcome with enzymes.

Additionally, some parents give enzymes when the child is eating outside the

home in hopes of counteracting any cross contamination.

That's right. The AFP-Petizyde helps with protein metabolism. However, our

daughter is not strictly GF/CF. I wish we could find an enzyme that targets corn

but no luck so far. Corn is strictly a no-no for our daughter.

Enzymes are normally produced in healthy bodies to

digest food. However, the key is " healthy bodies " .

Many of metal poison people have digestion issues

above and beyond the problems with break down of

casein and gluten proteins. Enzymes help the general

digestion and absorption of food in general. There are

various enzymes for various type of food.
