Thanks Teal, I am starting the lower dosage tomorrow 3 times a day

to see if it will agree with my system. I hate having to take

anything but hate the pain worse. Thanks for the help! Pam

Pamela,

I've been on methadone for over a year. It's worked well for me. I

was on oxycontin before the methadone and I couldn't handle the

higher and higher dosages I was needing as time went on so the doc

suggested I try methadone. I was very hesitant at first, had a lot of

preconceived ideas about methadone like many people seem to. I am sure

glad the doc took the time to talk to me about it so I could get over

the mental hang up I had and give it a try. It's definitely one of

the best pain meds I have tried in the last 14 years! The only side

effect I have had to deal with is nightmares. my doc said that is

pretty unusual. another great thing is it is so much cheaper than

oxycontin. i need to have percocet or something similar for

breakthrough coverage. you should talk to your doctor about that.

-Thanks , I'd love to hear more about meat in relation to pain.

I watch physical factors such as exercise and daily activities. I

took the first methadose today only thing I noticed was dizziness

and a headache. Guess after a couple days i'll know if it will help.

I was truely amazed at the cost. 90 5mg tablets was $9.00. I was

paying over $700 a month for all my prescriptions. Going from $300

to $9 is a blessing. I just hope it works. Thanks again for such

wonderful advice. pk
