Guest guest
Testing before rising temperatures on my two boys for 4 days results in nothing over 97.4 which seems to be indicative of a need for some thyroid support. These guys are indeed couch potatoes although not overweight. Because we have moved out-of-state from our original DAN! doctor we are for the moment dealing with the Medicaid services - and the paramedical is quite willing to refer us to an endocrinologist, as soon as I have growth chart information from the previous doctor (Kaiser - Calif.) I am ordering that (wish that I could have gotten it before we left) but am a bit concerned because one boy grew like a weed when the other one did not grow at all. Guess I will just try to insist that the endocrinologist see both of them. Anyway, my question: Is there anything that I can do now to support the thyroid - from a dietary or supplement angle? I read that zinc was supportive of the thyroid gland and so have become more aggressive on getting more into them. I am giving them both Brainchild Nutritionals LiquiZinc and Complimentary Prescriptions zinc monomethionine and we are at the csb recommendation (mg per body weight +). I am also giving the zinc along with the amino supplements, thus on an empty stomach and separate from calcium support. - lynette Q
