Guest guest
Is Colostrum an option? Perhaps you can get a breast-milk bank to help out if the mother is not breastfeeding. If mom is breastfeeding and using formula, I would suggest pumping more breastmilk. Maybe mother could also drink aloe vera juice to help digestive issues. Guest guest
I'm in Canada and am not sure what is available in the US. But we used Alimentum, a pricey corn based formula that had to be ordered by script to the pharmacy. I feel for Mom and Baby. I hope the doctors are truly investigating the cause and not fluffing it off as gas or something silly.. Guest guest
Some people can successfully relactate. Would she try breastfeeding? Guest guest
What about Body Ecology Diet? I just watched some youtube videos of Donna Gates and Dr. -McBride and Donna Gates was saying that they start even brand new babies on the fermented foods (put liquid in their mouths) to establish good flora in their guts. Also, Nickerson (I think) has talked about a bone broth that was used on her oldest ds when he was a baby. Maybe she will see this post. > > My friends baby girl is having severe reactions to formulas, she has > tried soy, milk, and now hypoalergenic and still has horrific diareah. > Is now on Zantac but only 3 weeks old and screams all day doesn't > sleep. Guest guest
I wonder if it is the corn syrup solids used as the carb source in most infant formulas. We supected the corn syrup causing problems for our daughter. We never did find a formula to use without corn syrup but fortunately she is now old enough for solid foods. Ask your doctor if there is an amino acid based formula without corn syrup solids that you can get as a prescription as an experiment. We tried neocate and that worked pretty well with our daughter but not perfectly... again it may have been corn syrup problems in our case. But the neocate is amino acid based and there are no proteins to react to. > > My friends baby girl is having severe reactions to formulas, she has > tried soy, milk, and now hypoalergenic and still has horrific diareah. > Is now on Zantac but only 3 weeks old and screams all day doesn't > sleep.
