Guest guest
I don't use TD-ALA (oral, instead), but I do not think you should reduce the dose of TD-DMSA. I kept our TD-DMSA dose the same when I added oral ALA about 2 months ago. My son just turned 5 (45 lbs). I use Lee Silsby TD-DMSA (200 mg/ml); .3 ml every 3-4 hours. I give him about 25 mgs oral ALA every 3-4 hours without any noticeable negatives. We are on the 3/4 schedule. I hope someone can recommend the TD-ALA dose. I've never seen anyone do so (yet). > > I want to add TD-ALA from Lee Silsby to our TD-DMSA protocol. Right now, my son does the 3/11 schedule. He is 9 years old and weighs 150 lbs. The TD-DMSA says 250 mg/ml td cream. We apply 1/2 ml every 4 hours. What dose should the TD-ALA be? Do we need to lower the TD-DMSA? My doctor will not know, as she doesn't have anyone else using TD-ALA, so what information I give her is how she will order it. > > All input is greatly appreciated. > > Thanks in advance. > > > >
Guest guest
I don't know what the TD-ALA equivalent is to oral ALA (and for that matter TD-DMSA equivalent for oral DMSA), but I can say that TD-ALA is AWESOME. It seems that it must absorb well, we get ours from Hopewell. We use 20 mg every 3 hours on our 45 lb son. I will say that TD-DMSA is good, but after using it for 9 months I have a very strong feeling that much of it is not absorbed (ours is from Lee Silsby). I do not think that TD-ALA has the same (apparent) absorption problems with my son. When we added TD-ALA 4 months after starting TD-DMSA, my son started improving rocket fast compared to the TD-DMSA alone. Be aware that ALA, even in TD form, does kick up yeast, so be prepared for that! Otherwise, TD-ALA plain old rocks! Love the stuff!
