Guest guest
I have had my chronic EN since age 22. It started soon after I was assigned to my technical training at Keesler AFB in Mississippi. I have had the chronic episodes come on about two or three times a year for the past 28 years. This episode has large nodules averaging 4 " on my entire left stomach area, the outside of my right kidney area, on my right hip, on the top of each of my thighs and a very angry red one just above my right ankle on the left side of my shin. My legs swell from edema, especially the one with the nodule just above the ankle. I have undergone testing of my blood, sputum, feces, throat cultures, chest x-rays, a barium enema and lower GI x-rays. They have never done a punch biopsy on a nodule. All they have found was a high sedimentation rate on the blood test indicating an inflammation. The USAF dermatologist stated that mine must be " idiopathic " . I guess that means they have no idea what causes it and it is pointless for them to look into it any further. I am not sure they tested my blood for all the possible causes I have found since on the web. I am wondering if I should ask my current doctor to run the blood tests ordering all the different test run for all the causes I have listed? I am in so much pain. I also have a constant cough now... Wondering if it may not be sarcoidosis?
