Guest guest
Jules, I have had flu shots for at least the last 5 years with no problems. It just shows that meds effect people differently. Dave in Silicon Valley Jules wrote: [snip] I'm wondering how many of you have had a flu shot, and for those of you who did-how sick did it make you? Guest guest
Hello Jules, I'm sorry to hear that the flu shot made you ill. My wife, my fatherinlaw and I all took it with no side effects for any of us. I hope that you get to feeling better. Guest guest
Elly, I am hearing that once you have had the H1N1 flu your body makes the antibodies to it and you should be safe from getting it again. The government has set up a website www.flu.gov that has all the info, even where you can get a shot in your state. In Kentucky, my county can't seem to get hold of any, but in Louisville, they had a drive-thru clinic at Papa 's Stadium. What upset me about that is they had thousands of doses but were injecting anyone that came, regardless of underlying illness or age. I thought they were supposed to be giving it first to those that were at risk.  I called both health depts in my county this am and was told they still didn't have any. My hubby's nephew (in Ohio) has it and caught it from one of his friend's dad. Then, to everyones shock, the father died earlier this week! Only 32 yrs. old. Our nephew is okay, but it's still been hard on him. Good luck Gail Subject: Flu Shot To: stillsdisease Date: Friday, November 13, 2009, 6:37 AM  Hi everyone, sorry I haven't been available of late,I am just in too much pain!I did get the regular flu shot this week, but the Rheumy couldn't get the h1n1.My question to those in the know is,if you get the h1n1 flu, what are the chances of getting it again? Guest guest
Hey Elly, My Oncologist told me that yes you can get it more than once, especially in those of us who have weakened immune system. Tyler got it first and shared it with me a few days later, if you can find an H1N1 flu shot, I would get one.
