Hi Barb!

I have a dentist friend who acknowledged that my tooth pain could be connected

to my fibro...the dentist cannot recreate my pain in his office. We both feel

it's best to avoid unnecessary dental procedures if not warranted. This is a

strange condition, that's for sure!

my gums have been bothering me for almost a year. I thought I might have gum

disease. Two dentists have told me there is nothing wrong. My gums are healthy.

Is this a fibro symptom? Anyone else have this problem? If so, what you do for

it?

Wow!

This is a new symptom I have not experienced. Did the dentist recommend anything

for this condition?

my doctor basically told me that the brain registers pain in fibro people

when there is no reason for the pain (the central nervous system is

hypersensitive to pain stimulus)--so it can be in any part of the body. my

feet hurt all the time and the more i do the more they hurt.

Hi & - thanks for responding.

Both dentists said 'maybe it's a side effect of some medication you're on' How's

that for a professionall oppinion =)

My Rheumy said not to use any mouthwash with alcohol in it. Very drying.

But other than that, this is the extent of the advise I got.

Been poking around online but can't find anything on Fibro gum pain.

Somedays it's not actually pain, but more of an internal itchy feeling. Well,

that's not really accurate, but as close a description that I can come up with.

It's right at the top of my teeth, just under the gum line. And only the top

gums, not the bottom.

That's why I went to see two different dentists. Well, at least I know my teeth

aren't ready to fall out.

My teeth feel like that during allergy season.  Mine is associated with the

sinuses, I think.

Hi,

My teeth were very sensitive for a while when I had candy-it really hurt. At

that time I did not understand that my body was trying to rid it self of the

sugar/toxins. See link

Sometimes when you give up toxins, you will be more sensitive for a while too.

Itching as well is a sigh you are detoxing. Have you changed your diet?

Hi ,

no- no antibiotics for a couple years. Other than the Fibro, hypothyroid and

Lupus (which is in remission right now) I'm a very healthy person =)

And following the hurting feet discussion thread, my feet hurt to stand or walk

on them also, not so much that it stops me from doing anything. Just enough to

be annoying.

I take 90mg Cymbalta, 100 mcg levothyroxine daily and Xanax before bed. I seem

to get more restorative sleep when I take the Xanax.

I was on Lyrica for two weeks. Really lessoned the pain, but it made me so week

and tired, I was in bed for most of the two weeks.

The Cymbalta has curbed the pain to the point that I don't live on Advil

anymore. I can go for weeks without taking any. Now I only take it if I'm having

a really high pain day. The Cymbalta really helped me with the fatigue and brain

fog.
