Often a baking soda paste will work wonders for this. Sometimes adding meat

tenderizer to the paste helps even more depending on which bug did the

biting.

I get these reactions myself.

The absolute best thing I have EVER found is to hold an icecube on the bites

for as long as your child will let you. The cold constricts everything,

causing a lot of the poison to come out, therefore there is a LOT less

itching, etc. This works better for me than any medicine I have ever tried,

by FAR!!!

My daughter also whelts very badly when bitten by mosquitos. What I do to

avoid this is bathe her in Avon's Skin-So-Soft bath oil. It is well known

to keep mosquitoes away and smells nice.

What we used during food allergy pinpricking sessions when she had large

whelts due to the foods, was use Diprolene AF Cream, 0.5% and it worked very

well, stopped her from scratching and promoted healing of the whelts quite

well.

Perhaps only food allergy doctors have this or you could just call a

pediatrician; I do not know.

Supplements: B Complex and Garlic (B Vitamins keep them away for me)

Repellent: T/tree, Citronella and Lavender mixed with water. Spray on.

Homeopathic: Ledum.

Apply Tee Tree oil direct to the bite, it helps.

as strange as it might appear,

our own urine on the skin helps with those situation.

If you look further in the Urinotheraphy thing,

you will find many many other insights.
