For a next starter, this post is (for alphabetical order) for/to Dan,

Greg, , and Steve, with a p.s. to Heward and , from the

other two lists.

Dan and Steve, my 'special appreciations to you for your occasional

(and always prompt) responses to my over-the-years sporadic

postings. Greg and , I have always read your posts

with " engaged interest " (a kind of klutzy phrase?!).

That's the, might I say (?) " yang " of this my this morning's list of

the people I would much hope/wish to talk to and with, in direct

engagement.

Meanwhile, some of the topics here do feel to me to kind of " sworl "

(for one of my private-language preferred worlds) far distant from my

single ability to deal with them in any simple, immediate, way.

But -- in the spirit of the best of inquiry (Jung's or any one

else's), here's for a bit of what (over on junglist, in a different

context, some of us have been responding to my image of " marte's tip-

of-the-iceberg " )....

" Full Disclaimer " : of the people I know personally on this list,

Alice is the only face-to-face [and that somewhat peripheral]

acquaintance; of the cyberspace acquaintances prime in some of these

yin/yang battings, Toni. Others of the " yin " among the group I'm

hoping to get back in touch with are many, and I'll hope to get some

posts off to many of you (maybe off-list so as not to be too long).

For the moment, I'm caught up with some of the themes much posted

back-and-forth among Dan-Greg--Steve and -- so often, Toni

(with whom, Toni, thanks so much for yesterday's lovely off-list

poolside party conversation!

My " yin/yang " sense of this (in part) is (without wanting to be

grossly simplistic about the " yin/yang " ) well -- let me cite a long

ago Readers Digest joke, o.k.?

He: " The trouble with you _women_ is, you take everything [so]

personally!

She: " _I_ don't "

??!!

So, see, I'm a little neither-here-nor-there right this morning.

and Dan exchange posts about law and bedroom and other people

argue about (for a maybe shortcut here, 'theology') of abortion laws,

sex-gender politics, and I'm sitting here thinking about some of my

very private and personal experiences in all these realms -- my own

bedroom(s), my friends who've had abortions, my -- call them whatever

you wish -- " gay " , " homosexual " friends -- and, yes, seeing this

topic recently came up, my closest next door neighbor who is, in

fact, a " fundy " who is one of my most treasured friends and supports

until (or unless, or in spite of that) she starts sounding off

about " the Lord " . [i love her dearly and know her well, so I can

laugh with affectionate pleasure when she surprises me some times

after I somewhat naively confess to my trusting love of her something

that offends her theology, such as that I once had no notion of the

meaning of " Satan " , and she replies, " oh, marte, YOU JUST HAVE TO

READ THE BIBLE!! " ]

So today is, for me, by " virtual time " , a long day, and for that I do

apologise (an apparently psychology-incorrect word these days) for

such a long post.

Appreciations to all for your many sharings, and hoping and looking

forward to some further more direct exchanges between me and many of

you,

marte hall
