Guest guest
Hello All, I just got the results of my third MRI and this one shows several herniated disks that are intruding through the thecal sac. This causes myelomalacia, where the spinal fluid leaks out. I have studied it as much as I can doing a Google search. Does anyone else have this condition and is it dangerous? Should I be immediately worried about it or only worry about it in the long run? Mark S. Jordan zorbasci @yahoo.com
Guest guest
Mark, Get to a neurologist immediately! After a spinal tap, I had the problem of leaking spinal fluid. It can cause stroke- like symptoms (slurring of words, partial paralysis, etc.), the worst headaches you can imagine, and so on. It's important that they be able to try to repair the leak, and that you stay laying down as much as possible while the spinal fluid rebuilds. Sometimes they give you cortisone injections to help. My fluid wouldn't replace itself, so I needed the injections. My biggest concern though, is that if you have this condition, you should have been told, and treatment started immediately. That's something you might want to investigate. I hope and pray all works out for the best.
