Guest guest
Our beloved workhorse of a UWTM is down with some electrical issues. The air driven switches for Fill and Drain have stopped working. Our trusted pool service (who has been handling the treadmill for some time now) is recommending changing relay switches and adding backflow valves and removing other (electrical) backflow stops. The owner of the pool service (also a licensed contractor) is at a loss to why it was set up in such a complicated manner to begin with. This is about as clear as mud to me at the moment. Has anyone experienced this? I am calling Hudson today, but they have moved operation to the east coast and are supporting us as best they can from where they are (which is not much -- they recommended a pool service that is 1-2 hours drive from us in Orange County CA -- and let me tell you, there are A LOT of pools in OC, as well as pool services...) Guest guest
You can contact Doug Moser who was formerly with Ferno. He can send some diagrams and info to your electrician. I believe its actually a pretty easy fix. I think the best way to reach him is by email. I will send you his email address off-list.DVM, CCRPSent from my Verizon Wireless BlackBerrySender: VetRehab Date: Thu, 16 Jun 2011 14:59:33 -0000To: <VetRehab >ReplyTo: VetRehab Subject: Ferno K9 UWTM Electrical issues Our beloved workhorse of a UWTM is down with some electrical issues. Guest guest
It happened to mine and we had a easy fix. We had to change out the toggle switch that controls forward and backward movement on the treadmill. Ours was a radioshack part #275-635 They call the part a “Mini Toggle”. My husband switched it out in 20 minutes. My unit was their large size purchased in 2008.Amy Amy Flannery MS, PT, CCRPCertified Canine Rehabilitation Practitioner Animal Rehabilitation and Fitness 316 3rd AveAlpha, NJ 08865 phone fax e-mail aarf@...web animalrehabilitationandfitness.com From: VetRehab [mailto:VetRehab ] On Behalf Of cdjdvm@...Sent: Thursday, June 16, 2011 11:45 AMTo: VetRehab Subject: Re: Ferno K9 UWTM Electrical issues You can contact Doug Moser who was formerly with Ferno. Guest guest
We had a similar problem with our older Ferno unit. The buttons on the treadmill have a diaphragm that would allow air to escape and the nipples on the back of the switches would break and crack allowing air to escape which would not activate the pump. I recommend replacing the air switches, it's easy to do and fairly inexpensive. This solved our problems. J.
