Guest guest
I have a 5yo M/N chocolate lab that has recently been diagnosed with a strained achilles tendon. There is thickening at the tendon insertion and ST swelling on rads. Also noted was bone chips in the joint with general OA present and the rDVM is going with a tentative diagnosis of OCD. The dog has horrible conformation in the rear in that there is very little angulation in either the stifles or the hocks. We are rehabbing the injury with exercises, U/S and laser. The owner (and myself) are wondering whether a support of some kind would be warranted at this stage to help support the hock joint and hopefully prevent further injury necessitating surgery. This is a fairly active dog and a very dedicated owner. Looking for anyone's thoughts?? Tracey DVM, CCRT
