Guest guest
try prolo therapy to the hips. this will tighten the ligaments and joint capsule and pull the hips back in. this will secondarily "pull" the knees out you can also do prolo to the joint capsule and collateral ligaments of the knees on the opposite sides of the luxation mark newkirk
Guest guest
Quincy is a 7 year old, MC Yorkie that had bilateral Grade 3 MPLs repaired 4 years ago and is still skipping. The patellas do not luxate medially, but he right can be luxated laterally (grade I). We did an MRI to rule out spinal issues/IVDD and also included his stifles. He has had some wear of the lateral block/trochlear ridge, but other than that only very mild DJD. No drawer or thrust has ever been present. We also ultrasounded the Iliopsoas and it was abnormal in the tendinous insertion. I have been working with him for the last 3 years and have done swimming, UWTM, acupuncture, laser, chiropractics, multiple different TherEx (hemiwalking, extensor postural thrust, hip stretches, cavalettis, ball work, etc), LTM on an incline, trigger point massage, Shockwave and Traumeel. Nothing has helped this poor pup and he is getting more pigeon-toed with time. As he becomes more tired, he adducts the thigh more and more and internally rotates the paw/externally rotates the hocks. Any ideas would be welcomed. I've uploaded a photo FYI in the photos folder.
