Guest guest
Thanks, Geoff and Sabine. Yr suggestions very helpful. I'm seeing the patient again tomorrow, so will follow through with both your suggestions. Commiphora is great for mouth problems, isn't it? Thanks again. (This is what I feel is really valuable about this forum - getting other herbalists experience and viewpoints) Anne Vitamin C supplementation - Peridontitis. > I hope someone out there can help me with a patient I have who has severe peridontitis. She has had root scrappings, antibiotic pellets inserted into gums (3 times) but still has visible pockets of infection in gums. I started treating her 2 months ago with mouthwash (Thyme, Calendula 25%, Myrrh, Lavender and Gotu cola) as well as a systemic mix. There has been a noticable improvement BUT her diet is haphazard (full time work and single mother with 3 children to look after) and she smokes. I recommended a Vitamin C and zinc supplement to her (especially in light of her smoking) but she has reacted to the citrus in the Vitamin C with migraine type headaches and visual disturbances. She also has similar reaction when eating citrus fruits, strawberries, grapes and rose (pink) wine. > > Can anyone help me with a Vitamin C supplement that does not contain citrus - is ascorbate, citrus based? > > Thanks in advance for replies > Anne > >
