Spinal stimulators are always installed temporarily at first so you can see if it will work or not before a permanent installation. That's the only way to find out if it works for *you*. I had a trial a few weeks ago to see if a spinal stimulator would control my chronic neuropathic foot pain. It worked only slightly better than the TENS unit I had been using for some time, and the electrode was very uncomfortable in my back. I couldn't wait to have it removed 4 days later. Needless to say, I decided not to proceed with the permanent implant. Your mileage may vary, of course. The only way to find out if one would work for you is to do a trial.
