Raven/ian motor seizures

Hi Raven,

This is great -- if pain ever can be. Another

path to follow about this pain. I will look

for information on the net about JMS, all these

diagnoses tho are so unique to the sufferers.

Thank you so very much.

About when I first started experiencing this...

I don't remember anything different. Certainly

not a change in meds. Oh I know what was going

on, and this may sound strange but during the

last

year my life emotionally has turned around. I

grew up with emotional disorders/depression and

they were the first reasons for my disability

approval. Then as I healed emotionally, my body

let go of holding itself together. Anyway,

emotionally I have truly arrived at a place of

happiness and peace and I was just acknowledging

that when the worst pain started. Ah Freudian

isn't it.

I look forward to your comments, and anyone

else's, if they found similar experiences along

their path's.

Warmly, Jean

Hi, Raven, since you wrote to me about these

seizures (re my arm and unexplained cramps), I

have been attempting to do research on the JMS.

I finally got to the library this morning. No

one has heard of these, can you tell me more or

direct me to a site?

Thank you.

Warmly, Jeannie

Hey Jeannie...

Try looking up info under " simple partial motor seizures " (or " simple partial

motor type seizures " , or even " partial seizures. " ). This is the general class

under which JMS is classified.

The name JMS is actually an old name that's undergone significant renovation

in the past 3 years (it's now being investigated as it pertains to Cerebral

Palsy). It simply refers to the ian neural matrix, which was hypothesized

as the source for the tremors in the arm. So because it's so specialized, you

probably won't find much on it (I know I haven't over the years). But looking

up the general class will likely yield more info (I've found info in neurology

text books and articles at my local med school library). It also may be more

pertinent to you as slight damage to several different areas of the brain can

lead to arm tremors.

Sorry I don't have more info for you, I wish I did (for the both of us LoL)...

Raven
