Guest guest
, Jan gave you some really good advice. Are you able to see a practioner? Get blood, urine work? As far as KPU my doc used Bio and my results were high positive. If he gets negatives and thinks the person still has KPU he does use the other lab. I would not even think about doing KPU until you get the kidneys checked out. Binders I am using,Nano Chitosan, Clay,Micro Silica,Chlorella and others I cannot remember at the moment. Please get yourself check out if you have not. Blessings to you feeling better. Guest guest
Thank you ladies! Well, the blood in urine was a few weeks back and I don't have burning (not like a UTI). I just called the lab and had them send my results from last Wed. The doc ran Comprehensive Metabolic and nothing is out of range or even at the end of the range. ? This seems really odd to me. I was pretty sure my creatinine levels would be elevated. Maybe it's kidney stones? I did call the doc and will go in this afternoon. The air hunger thing may not always be babesia (and was listed under 'advanced kidney failure). I've been coiling 570 since last May and usually herx from it and never have experienced air hunger. Then this winter I added 2110 for 35 second and 5 hours later was hit with the hardest and fastest (coming on) herx of my life - with lots of air hunger. I'm not sure what 2110 hits, but I think it might be a cyst buster. Two different stores weren't carrying KmagKG, but I did pick up some L-ornithine, but they didn't have it alone just a blend of 1,250 mg L Arginine with 585 mg of L Ornithine. (I'm wondering if the L Arginine is OK?) And I'm not sure what the dosage should be on these. For my heart I was taking Trace Mineral Tablets and extra magnesium and Hawthorn. Then I switched to EmergenC which I think has more potassium. It seemed to help a bit. The last few days I've been afraid to add any potassium, because it can be elevated with kidney issues, but my blood work would say it's OK. I've been off everything for two days and off coiling for 4-5 and my heart seems to be calming down. Tansy Flower: you are saying to use the fresh plant? Is that easy to find or do I order seeds and wait 2 months for it to grow? (I feel like such a dork asking this)I did take some binders yesterday. And I have been doing a dropper full of Uva Ursi 3-4 /day. Yesterday, I did two castor oil packs over my kidneys. I think it helped.I may need to spring the big bucks for the micro silica, because nothing else seems to help much.I won't do KPU until my kidneys are better and I've found some binders that help. Thanks so much! Guest guest
I just read this and those symptoms can be adrenal crash symptoms. The adrenals are just above the kidneys, so it can seem like kidneys. Low cortisol will cause thyroid to be functionally high causing things like heart arrhythmias. Low cortisol can cause more ACTH to be produced – ACTH is similar in structure to melanin so and increase of it can cause skin darkening (think ‘tanning’ in ’s Disease). Flank pain can be adrenal pain. Air hunger can be thyroid. Irritated bladder can be a thyroid thing. Anyway most of those symptoms can be associated with imbalances of cortisol and thyroid. I’d get your adrenals checked. Do and AM and PM cortisol, plus an ACTH and any other hormones you can get the doc to do. I’m saying this as a cautionary note coz I’m worried: Severely crashed adrenals is serious and requires immediate attention. I’m not a doctor and not saying that this is what is wrong, but it is worth ruling out. Not a doctor! Guest guest
Thanks !Luckily, my doc will run any I want. I didn't think about adrenals causing similar symptoms, but considering my kidney labs look ok (maybe), I need to consider other things. I know my thyroid has been messed up. My last TSH was 4.5. Since then I've changed to compounded Armour. (I was on T3) ACTH - is a challenge test, right? Not just a simple draw?My only other adrenal symptom (that I can think of) is that I am very jumpy. I am taking 20 mg of cortisol and 2mg of medrol, but my medrol is over a year old and not very potent. I just read this and those symptoms can be adrenal crash symptoms. Guest guest
There is an ACTH stim test, but I think you can just test the actual level of ACTH as well. Renin is good to get too. Check out the realthyroidhelp.com site – I think they have some stickies on ACTH and related tests. Sounds like you have several different things going on. Air hunger is MOST known as a symptom of babesia.Perhaps a spring flare and not a herx???? To much ammonia in the body might account for the worsening brain fogL-ornithine,K Mag MG, Lobelia chinensis(pale spike lobelia), are all good for ammonia detox Are you taking potassium and iodine along with the magnesium for the heart arrhythmia? they work together synergisticly An Idea :One natural remedy for heart palps is tansy flower tea, fresh herb is best but make tea and sip two gulps every five minutes until palpitations stop( no medical advice here, just anecdotal evidence and ideas for you) Binders do not affect the kidneys in any negative way.Binders go into the intestinal tract and absorb toxins that have been released there.Drink lots and lots of water, double your usual amount if possible..Uva ursi is a good herb tea for kidneys and bladder as is juniper and the natural D- Mannose ( its also a prebiotic for the urinary tract) Muscle spasms you might try an epsom salt bath, ice the area and then later heat.also for moist heat pack, fill a tube sock with uncooked rice, tie off end and put in microwave for 3 to 4 minutes , put on area of spasm. or pain Jan Re: Kidneys and Binders Posted by: " H " 40dayjourneygmail fightingtbi Date: Mon Apr 5, 2010 10:30 pm ((PDT)) *Hi Joyce, Yep, I decided to take the KPU jump. (YIKES). Now just trying to decide on Vitamin Diagnostics or BioCenter. So, even if I come back positive for pyroluria I don't think I should start it until my kidneys calm down. I'm sure I will appreciate your hand holding when I begin. (My son sooner - hopefully) Anyway, my kidney symptoms from beginning to now: air hunger a herx w/o relief heart arrhythmias not cured with magnesium cloudy urine blood in urine acidic urine now - clear urine bladder discomfort skin darkening muscle spasm and twitching increased brain fog flank pain swelling (retaining water) headache feeling extra lousy Sadly, us Lymies feel so crummy most of the time that we may not notice early symptoms. From what I can see online, my symptoms are pretty advanced. Would you please list your favorite binders?
