Hello in WA. I am a dry sider in WA also. My kids and their families

are wet siders (Lake s and Mukilteo). My daughter is a SAHM also.

Hi there Kailu. I have a Kaeli for a grand daughter.

Hi there Shellie! Welcome to WW, great group, great organization. :)

Hi Pat, howdy Amy (you the new bride?).

Yes indeed, the official WW policy is weigh once a week. Well.....I still

do it DAILY. Even while still on staff, I stepped on those Tanita scales

every morning.

I am sure I missed some names, I have the memory of a closed book. So, if I

missed your names, do not feel slighted one whit. I will get you one of

these days.

Made home made split pea soup with home made French bread for dunking.

Yummmmmm. Low points. :)

Hi Cheryl,

I've had my baclofen pump for five and one half years. Spasticity was no

longer being controlled by oral med's. The oral pain medication I was taking

did help, back then. Now that the illness is progressing, so has the pain.

My pump doctor will only do baclofen. I've found plenty of doctor's who use

opiates in the pump, but not baclofen. The story I was told by most of the

doctor's was that the math is too complex configuring two different med's. I

won't give up, not yet. It's not a personal thing with me. Between my

insurance network and the doctor's available, I can't match one up. If

anything, I

am persistent and hope to find one very soon.

Thank you for writing.

Hi Janet -

Welcome to the group, although I'm sorry for the pain that brought

you here.

One thing you said stuck out for me:

> I cannot find a pump doctor in my area and within my insurance

that will mix the baclofen with a pain med.

That baffles me! I don't have a pump myself, but have considered one

and have talked to lots of folks who do through this list and the one

I'm on for my condition (adhesive arachnoiditis or AA), and I've

never heard of anyone who did NOT get pain meds in their pump (almost

always mixed with baclofen, because AA causes bad spasms too due to

spinal cord and nerve root damage.) I thought the whole point of a

pump was being able to deliver opiates directly to the spinal canal

at lower dosages than needed with oral meds. It's terrible that

they're not taking advantage of the implant to do just that. Why do

you think that's the case for you?
