Guest guest
Imogene, Can you get her the DVD? She maybe can listen to it with earphones? Hugs, Donna R Caregave for Mom (after I brought her from WI to MI) for 3 years and 4th year in a nh. She was almost 89 when she died in '02. No dx other than mine. Letter from a friend about lock down The following letter came from a friend. Her Dad has been diagnosed with Alzheimer's, but not all doctors know and understand LBD, and they diagnose it as AD. Which I feel may be the case with this girl's Dad. I asked permission to share this part of her letter to show our LBD caregivers that this is the case in some of our LO. We can't feel guilty if it happens. And if it does just get out of harms way, and call for help. I haven't asked yet, but when she says and hour and a half away, then her dad must have been sent to Houston. The same place our dear Jnett has told us about. I sure hope so. Love a bunch, Imogene Caregiver for my true Texas Gentleman Husband of 36 years. He has LBD with Parkinsonism. A happy personality is contagious. Infect someone today. ** Wednesday night my dad had to be transferred to a lockdown unit in a behavioral hospital an hour and a half away from hoWe. He had two episodes of uncontrollable agitation, anger and eventually violence on Wednesday. This is the first ti T to occur twice in the sa t day or even the sa d week in a manner that they had not been able to redirect or calm him. The administrator called T and told a they were having him transported by ambulance im tdiately. The only other alternative was for di to bring him ho t and I knew that I could not do that even as much as I wanted to. I did not get to see him until I did n Thursday and he was heavily sedated. But the atmosphere and the staff were both reassuring to B. The goal is to try and find the right . dication combination to alleviate these uncontrollable violent episodes. I pray that can be done. There aren’t many alternatives left besides confine Tnt to a psychiatric hospital and I just cannot even imagine how I will deal with that. This is a most vicious disease. ************************************** Get a sneak peek of the all-new AOL at http://discover.aol.com/memed/aolcom30tour
