yes, thanks Marty, good one to bring to our attention.I love shrimp, I have found one brand from The Florida Keys, I was so happy to have found this, other wise I had bought shrimp from Thailand for yrs, and I started tasting this nasty taste from it, so I stopped buying it. Here in Oregon we can get some good wild Salmon, and great crabs from the coast. But that is about it, everything else is very expensive if you are not going to buy farm raised fish which to me has no flavor. Also we can get some wild Dover Sole that is pretty good. But with the gulf being the way it is now, and the oceans so polluted every where it looks like Fish will be very costly to every one.In light of the clip we just saw, it seems that there are some heavy duty lobbyists in

Washington keeping US farmers out of the loop to keep prices low for the american consumer who really does not know what they are purchasing, maybe they don't care what they are eating. Mindless consumers.I would not buy any food from china, given they are so polluted, and dont care what they sell. I have even seen a terrible article with graphic pictures of people getting slaughtered and the meat from it sold for consumption, we had better look very carefully at where meat, fish, produced are coming from. I suppose you asked the question to Michel but here , in Belgium (and i live at the coast) the most fish is caught in the Northsea, around France, Great Brittain and Portugal or Iceland. There are strict rules about the sizes of the caught fish, the quantity and often control from customs while the fishermen are on sea. Don't know if that is also around the coasts of the USA.

The catfish I bought this morning comes from Iceland. Looked for it so from now on I'll need other glasses to read labels and bit re-educating hubby when it is about meat so we try to get on the right road again.

thanks e,Don't know about the rules for commercial fishing here, but there are strict rules for the regular Joe to fish here. Especially Salmon. I believe Native Americans can fish for Salmon, I have bought salmon from my native american friend who brings it over to our parts and we can buy a small amount from him.Really I only like a few different kinds of fish, and especially love lobster, shrimp and scallops, and salmon, those are my first choices, the most expensive fish.You are lucky to know where your fish is coming from, and its smart that they can't over fish by you too.Michele
