Guest guest Posted February 1, 2000 Report Share Posted February 1, 2000 Hi , After we returned from the International CHARGE Syndrome Conference in Boston, which was a wonderful experience, Bruce and I decided that a regional get-together in the land area would be nice. In 1998, our original plans were to hold a picnic for CHARGE families who lived in the Mid-Atlantic area. Due to the unpredictability of land's weather we soon realized that we could plan it but probably would not be able to attend due to Abby's respiratory problems. Before we knew it the picnic emerged into a full fledged conference with guest speakers and a variety of activities for the whole family. Our conference has always been open to anyone who wants to attend. If you are interested in attending just let us know your mailing address and we will be happy to send you a registration package. We have heard of other conferences that may limit the eligibility for attendance but it is not ours. We are happy to have anyone join us to include families, siblings, aunts, uncles, teachers, grandparents, doctors, etc. Hope you can make it. I also remember her saying extended family also could not attend or we probably would have gone with them. We have, however, had conferences/workshops years past that were open to families from other states. There is ia conference in Australia<Brisbane) 22nd 23rd 24th September 2000.itis in the middle of the Olympics that is one reason it is in Brisbane.We also have abooklet produced .CHARGE ASSOCIATION<It is a wondferful book and available to any one for $20.oo Aus.Please let me know if you would lke one.Glad to see you are connected to this list.Sorry about the delay,we have a son getting married in three weeks and it is hectic.We lso have a 16year old daughter with cHARGE.a 22 year old son and a two year old grandaughter who lovews the computer so I have to answer these when she isnt around.
