Help with Laser Dose

I have a client whose horse has some ligament issues in it's pelvis and appears to have some myofascial pain secondary to the abnormality.  I haven't seen the horse for a few months, but the owner said this normally calm horse is now kicking and biting when people touch it, so Dry Needling the muscles might be out of the question until I can calm things down with the laser.  I have a class IIIb, but haven't used it on a horse.  Any recommendations?

This is an interesting case.  The horse has always been a little sore and reactive on my acupuncture DAPE especially at the pelvis points.  I had successfully treated the horse with acupuncture until early fall when the horse threw his rider and crashed into a tree.  I looked at the horse a few days later and knew something was terribly wrong.  I recommended it go to the university, where they promptly ignored my DAPE findings and insisted it was in the legs.  Several thousand dollars later, they admitted there was nothing wrong with the legs. Since then, the ligament tear was noted by a different equine vet on ultrasound and has been on strict stall rest, halter walks only.  I apologize, I can't say where the tear was, only what the equine vet told the owner.

So, the horse got the equivalent of being crated like a dog for three months, got an ulcer from the bute (and stress of being cooped up?), and is the same if not worse when I referred it. I am open to any other rehab, acupuncture or medical treatments.
