Re: Neuro visit

It is difficult but not impossible, I know that only because I'm doing it LOL. The main reason for that is because I didn't want my daughter put in special ed when what she needed was just one on one individual attention to help her learn. According to medical authorities she has Asperger's (I don't believe it but hey what do I know) You have to file with Albany and your child has to pass standardized testing, especially at the 4th and 8th grade levels. Do I love NY, not necessarily but its home for us. As far as public schools go, it depends on where you find a nest to roost in, alot of the schools in this area are integrated learning programs. The elementary in the next town has all kinds of students, "normal", learning impaired, disabled, and ESL students. In Herkimer and at most all the local schools there is BOCES(Board of ative Educational Services) that has a specialized program for autistic children in house as well as running programs in many of the area schools. Charity was set to become a student in one of their programs when she was 2 but mommy is a stubborn bird and said no. My SIL's daughter has a different spectrum disorder and was in a program at the school and did quite well. She was taught right in her hometown school and will enter 8th grade this fall in public junior high. Compared to the other schools I have attended, those here in NY and the ones I attended in Michigan, I have to laud the Herkimer School District, the fort School District (West fort Elementary won the 2004 Presidential Academic Merit Award) West Canada Valley School District, and Poland Central School as the best in NY. C'mon, move here, you'll like it, I promise

big difference. holy crap. jerry plows wrote:

I think I got blessed too when I had Chloe. Charity is a sweet wonderful 4 year old but her baby hood had me in tears every day, sleep was non existent, she wouldn't eat, cried constantly, and was sick all the time. Chloe slept all nite from 4 weeks, is very mild mannered, calm, and good natured. They both are really, but when I delivered Chloe I was petrified at what the future held. I don't get my sugars either. Last night it was 197 and this morning it was 69. I took nothing to bring it down so go figure. I give up LOL

207 is pretty high, considering you had no carbs. The baby is fine. He is such a sweet, quiet, mellow little guy. Not at all like my 20 month old. He's a handfull! Guess God thought I needed an easy one for a change. Tristajerry plows wrote:

Hello, how is that precious little one today?? That is a great blood sugar. Yay for you. For some reason mine was 207 this afternoon, Hmmm, its a little odd since all I had today was thickened tea for breakfast (oh yum) and some ground turkey for lunch. Guess I'll have to keep an eye on it and maybe even call the good old endocrinologist. I had to stop the chewable bromelain myself, just because it was giving me spike in the sugars. Each one was only 1 gram of sugar but for whatever reason made it shoot right up. I think for now the only sugar I'll be having is the kisses my kids give me.

I suppose the chewables wouldn't be a good thing then huh? Actually, I am now med free since I started breastfeeding. (diabetes meds) My sugar is hovering round 100 - 106 before meals and 1 hr. post. Yay!!!!!!! Tristajerry plows wrote:

Trista, here is a partial price list, the chewables are listed there on top. I have to mix them with the regular tablets to reach my max dose but now I just like taking them for the added taste treat, just so you know, you weed need to ingest

12 1/2 chewables to equal one 500 mg tablet, not the best option for a diabetic. I take 6 of the chewable in addition to my 4 tablets.

Thanks . I've never heard of Vitamin World. I found it yesterday on the internet for 180, 500 mg tabs for $6.49. Wasn't sure if that was good or not. I'd like to find the chewables. Tristajerry plows wrote:

Butting in here, as usual. If there is a Vitamin World near you, go there. They have the best prices of any place I've seen on almost everything but especially Bromelain. I just bought a bottle of 500 pills for less than $12 and a bottle of 100 chewables for less than $6.
