Guest guest
We have three children, all pregnancies exactly the same and no problems, no flu shots, etc. Three very healthy and happy babies all born fine. Two are entirely NT, one ASD (no regression, fyi). My advice is that all of us wracking our brains to try and think of how we “did this” to our children is not good for us, or our children, or our state of minds. This group is dedicated to forwarding-looking and forward-thinking parents who are trying to make our children better via various therapies. I would suggest sticking with this focus on the future versus the past – but this is just my thinking. Guilt is not good for anyone. Just my humble opinion… From: mb12 valtrex [mailto:mb12 valtrex ] On Behalf Of michellebondy Sent: 22 February 2009 02:58 To: mb12 valtrex Subject: Re: What Really Causes Autism? Guest guest
I was just curious if there was any common factor. My mind is not in a place where I am trying to figure out what I did. I am just in an investigative mode. My son has only brought positive things in my life and he has taught me so many good things. I am a better peson because of autism. Of course I would love for him to be the best he can be, and that is why I never stop looking for answers. It is my curiosity and optimistic outlook that has gotten us this far. I hope I haven't put anyone in a negative place by asking questions about there past health and pregnancy facts. Ever since we have had the diagnosis I have just wanted to fill my brain with any info I can get my hands on. I will always keep moving forward, one day at a time. Guest guest
I had a c-section and pitocin to induce labor at 35 weeks due to severe preeclampsia and HELLP syndrome. I also had a flu shot during the first trimester. My son also had Hep B shot the day he was born (5 weeks early!!!!) I've always thought a combo of those things could have contributed to it. > > > > > > > > How many moms out there were given a rho-gam shot and have a child > > > with Autism? > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > _________________________________________________________________ > Windows Live™ Hotmail®:…more than just e-mail. > http://windowslive.com/explore? ocid=TXT_TAGLM_WL_t2_hm_justgotbetter_explore_022009 >
Guest guest
I feel the same way and often wonder. I think autism is sometimes just there from birth. But that also, the fact our enviorment is so much more toxic as well as our foods..this I feel makes a child much more suseptable. So a child that may have struggled with ADHD 10 years ago..I do think some of these predistpositions are progressing into autism.. lisa 39 and Mom to threeTasha 22 ooops..new Mommy ( Grammy to Kyri 18/m)Casey-Mae 14..sweet as pieElijah 2 1/2.. Guest guest
I'm new to this group and have already gained so much from reading the posts and sharing in the challenges. I've been thinking lately myself about the rhogam shots I had --two with my first who has aggression issues, and I can't remember if I had it again during pregnancy with my second who has the diagnosis of mild autism spectrum disorder. But they are close in age (21 months) and I breastfed them both for a long time (18 mos and 36 mos)--did the mercury enter the breastmilk? I too have many dental fillings. Both of my sons' lab results showed mercury though I thought my youngest would not have received vaccinations with mercury (2001)--the doctor said it could have been due to using up the old vaccinations that still had it in them. Just some thoughts--but as someone else said--forward thinking! Thanks. > > > > > > How many moms out there were given a rho-gam shot and have a child > > with Autism? > > > > > > > > >
Guest guest
Yes with both my boys. One has autism, the other doesn't. The one with autism, I had petocin and he was an emergency C section, fully vaccinated. The second son, planned c section, no vaccines after 4 mos (when I learned about the connection) - typical development after a rocky start during the first year. Heidi Re: What Really Causes Autism? Guest guest
I had the flu shot during my first trimester as well. I definitely think that was a factor. My son was fully vaccinated until the age of 2, afterward I found out about the connection. > > > > > > > > > > > > How many moms out there were given a rho-gam shot and have a > child > > > > > with Autism? > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > _________________________________________________________________ > > Windows Live™ Hotmail®:…more than just e-mail. > > http://windowslive.com/explore? > ocid=TXT_TAGLM_WL_t2_hm_justgotbetter_explore_022009 > > >
Guest guest
I had the flu shot also, in my first trimester supposedly because I am ashtmatic(my asthma is worse now from these flu shots). My son is my first child, c-section, pitocin, failed epidurals,. He got Hep B at six days old. He regressed at 12 mos. but cried alot after 7 mos. shots. I definately think it was a combination and the shots really put him over the edge. I have a number of mercury fillings also. He is high functioning PDD-NOS. > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > How many moms out there were given a rho-gam shot and have a > > child > > > > > > > with Autism? > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > _________________________________________________________________ > > > Windows Live™ Hotmail®:…more than just e-mail. > > > http://windowslive.com/explore? > > ocid=TXT_TAGLM_WL_t2_hm_justgotbetter_explore_022009 > > > > > >
