Guest guest Posted July 16, 2009 Report Share Posted July 16, 2009 Sorry you are feeling so bad. I know the pred will make you feel better, just be careful with the higher doses. I know we all know about the common side effects that happen fairly quickly but just keep in mind that there are a few side effects that can be crippling or cause other more dangerous problems, notably AVN. I've noticed that sometimes the docs don't even bother to mention about AVN but they really should being as it is serious. I wonder if it's because it isn't one of the symptoms that shows up fairly quickly like the others ( moon face, swelling, acne, mood swings etc. ) Even though those side effects from pred almost always happen they do go away and don't cause long term damage unlike AVN, and bone thinning. You should be checked also by your surgeon to be sure you dont have an injection at the surgical sites. If you can look or have someone you love look for you, make sure the site is not oozing any pus or looks red or feels hot to touch. also, check your temps a few times per day.... not sure if fever due to Still's but if you had an infection you might develop a fever as well (typically over 101).
