Guest guest
I have not used Neurontin, but I have a story of my (then 6, now 7 yr old ) son who was raging out of control.... He was so deficient in B1, B2 and molybdenum that the sufite levels had gotten dangerously high- the results was raging behavior. The main source for molybdenum is grains, and wiht a gf/cf, soy free, corn free diet, he lost that trace mineral and with the addition of MB-12- which can imbalance/deplete B1, B2, he got very sick. An IV of a revised myers cocktail with molybdenum added snapped him out of it in 24 hours. I wonder if this is similar to your son? Tami Neurontin for aggression Has anyone used Neurontin to manage aggression. I'm considering using it while my DAN and I try to solve the cause of my 7.5 yo autistic son's aggression and self injury. Any info on success or adverse reactions greatly appreciated. I would also like to know the dose used. Thanks so much. Guest guest
Tami, His recent RBC elements test showed low molybdenum, Ca,Chromium, and iron. Selenium, boron and vanadium were all low normal. His copper was off the chart high even though his zinc was high normal. Total bilirubin also very low. His CBC showed high RBC, hemoglobin, hematocrit and RDW. A pattern similar to an athlete on steroids. This fits perfectly with his behavior. I have increased his Biomins II from 2 caps/day to 3 caps/day and extra zinc from 30mg/day to 60mg/day. He also gets GABA 1250mg/day and theanine 600mg spread through out the day. Clonidine 0.15mg is the only thing that will slow him down enough to let him sleep at night. I will check with my DAN about the molybdenum, a very interesting coincidence. Thanks for replying!! Guest guest
HI Beth, my son's gut was so messed up that no amount of oral B vitamins was getting thru- the IV was a crucial point for us..... also, about those B vitamins, if you google for " myers cocktail " there's lots of info there. My son is 65 lbs, he gets 100 mcg's of molybdenum per day. I hope your son is better soon! Tami Neurontin for aggression > > > Has anyone used Neurontin to manage aggression. Guest guest
Hi Tami, This thread seems to be like my 12 y/o dd,who is grain free due to yeast and bacteria. She is doing well on the diet and b-12 shots, supplements, long list, and nystatin Her language has gotten much better, but she is getting very loud, angry, and rude as well as overemotional. We were using spectrum complete for multi, and I removed it to see if something in it was causing this . Could you please list the ingredients in the IV your son received? thank you, theresa Neurontin for aggression > > > Has anyone used Neurontin to manage aggression. Guest guest
If your daughter is 12, rude and overemotional would be a very neurotypical thing for her to be. I don't know how severe it is, but it could just be hormones. Where is she physically development-wise? Guest guest
Hi Liz, She is starting to develop a bit,so I am sure that factors in it, But it is not typical for her to act this way,she had aba from age 2to 5 so she has always been my best behaved child. She is also becoming very, very focused on her 8 y/o typical sister, including throwing major tantrums if she cannot fix her hair just like her sisters, things like that The upside is she is trying to hold conversations with her obsessions with her peers. I remarked on her copying her sister and she said she has always " been'' someone else. That she used to be Cameron, her cousin who lived with us 4 yrs ago. I guess she is not ok being herself theresa Re: Neurontin for aggression > If your daughter is 12, rude and overemotional would be a very > neurotypical > thing for her to be. Guest guest
I forgot to ask if she's just hit 100lbs. That seems to be the threshold for puberty. I think you're right in that it's only one factor, esp. since you know your child. but if she had just hit 100lbs, it might be a part of the puzzle. > > Reply-To: csb-autism-rx > Date: Fri, 13 Jan 2006 15:12:15 -0500 > To: <csb-autism-rx > > Subject: Re: Neurontin for aggression > > Hi Liz, > She is starting to develop a bit,so I am sure that factors in it, > But it is not typical for her to act this way,she had aba from age 2to 5 so > she has always been my best behaved child. She is also becoming very, very > focused on her 8 y/o typical sister, including throwing major tantrums if she > cannot fix her hair just like her sisters, things like that > The upside is she is trying to hold conversations with her obsessions with > her peers. > I remarked on her copying her sister and she said she has always " been'' > someone else. > That she used to be Cameron, her cousin who lived with us 4 yrs ago. > I guess she is not ok being herself > theresa
Guest guest
Hi , She is 120 lbs,has lost some weight since going more toward SCD,Do you have any idea about maybe some progesterone or something. Her older sister who is nt?was a real beastie when she started developing and continued to be difficult until she was 20.I did not have a clue back then about things if a Dr did not tell me to do it. Thanks, theresa Re: Neurontin for aggression >> >> Hi Liz, >> She is starting to develop a bit,so I am sure that factors in it, >> But it is not typical for her to act this way,she had aba from age 2to 5 >> so >> she has always been my best behaved child. She is also becoming very, very >> focused on her 8 y/o typical sister, including throwing major tantrums if >> she >> cannot fix her hair just like her sisters, things like that >> The upside is she is trying to hold conversations with her obsessions >> with >> her peers. >> I remarked on her copying her sister and she said she has always " been'' >> someone else. >> That she used to be Cameron, her cousin who lived with us 4 yrs ago. >> I guess she is not ok being herself >> theresa > > > > Many frequently asked questions and answers can be found at > <http://forums.autism-rxguidebook.com/default.aspx> > >
