LOL I hear you. My carpet is beige. What kind of IDIOT puts beige

carpet in an APARTMENT?

I got Terry and me one of those last X-Mas...they work good...but are for

maintenance only...we still need to do the pro cleaning a couple of times a

year.

My new discovery is a empty coffee can full of hot water, 2-3 squirts of

orange Dawn and a scrub brush...this works real well on carpets too..

yet, but it is in Walmart too...Orangeclean...my dad says it's pretty

That's funny. Sounds like we have a trend here. Management

refuses to repaint or even touch ups. They only paint once you move

out. But after about 2 and a half years---it's looking ---- well a

little *ugly* if you know what I mean. I tried to clean the kitchen

walls once--but stopped when I hit THAT green (you know the

shade) YUCK double YUCK

You have to watch out for citrus cleaners because they're oily and

tend to stick in there, unless you rinse them good...and then they

start to really eat stuff away.

The best thing we ever bought, and I mean *the best* thing, is a

Hoover Steamvac II, when we had our first. I use it on the high-

traffic carpeted areas about twice a month, in general. You can see a

distinct, sharp brown/green line (brown from dirt, eh) when I make the

first pass...

The second best thing we ever bought, and it's a close second, is a

6hp shop vac. A huge mother. It could probably suck the paint off of

the walls, were it ever to get loose. I've even been known to take the

hose off of the dirt devil and duct-tape it to the shop vac, then turn

the shop vac on and use it as the suction source for the regular

vaccuum cleaner...yeaaaahhhhhhh.

Cheers,

(who will probably go out an buy oxiclean now)

And they always plan to redo them when the apartment is due to rent again.

Besides the beige carpets and walls allow them to claim that the preceding

tenants should lose their damage deposit.

Salli who once spent ten hours cleaning an apartment with a screaming baby,

and two helpful teenaged nieces and STILL lost the damage deposit

How do you use the Oxyclean for clothing and shower stalls? Do you dilute it

or make a paste? I never saw any difference adding it to the wash. :)

I bought it a few weeks ago and it is fantastic! It takes out all

sorts of stuff. Especially blood and urine. I love it!

Cinnamon,

I have. It's called orange oil. I used it when I worked in a

dental clinic a few years ago. It gets all sorts of stuff clean and

especially works on greasy or baked on stuff(I learned that from

cleaning the instruments that had gone through the sterilizer). It

works great and smells good too! We used to put a drop in the mask if

a person came in with really bad breath. LOL

Add a little more to the laundry, see if that helps. For shower

stalls, you make a paste. It says that it only needs a VERY SMALL

amount of water, so try with just a teaspoon to start, and work from

there. Then, you spread it on the area, and let it sit for 3-5

minutes. Then, wipe it off, or for a tough spot, scrub it gently.

Rinse, and you're done.

Well, it's nice to know that there are still people in the world who
