Hi Joy and welcome to the group. I just turned 37, my

TL was 5 years ago and I'll be having Dr. Levin do my

reversal in 2002, hopefully spring but realistically

might have to wait until late summer.

I do worry about age, etc....but I try not to and just

have the reversal and put my fertility back in the

hands of Our Maker. Hopefully He will chose to bless

us with several babies in addition to my DD's 15 & 7.

Happy Holidays to you and your family,

J.

CONGRATS TO YOU JOY,

I HAVE A FEW QUESTIONS. I'VE SEEN DR. LEVIN'S NAME ALL

OVER THE PLACE. WHERE IS HE LOCATED? WHAT'S THE

PRICE FOR TR? AND HOW CAN I CONTACT HIM?

Joy,

Your not suppose to be driving after the TR. I

think it's like 2 weeks NO driving. My DH didn't have

any sick days BUT Dr Levin gave him a doc excuse so

time off work wouldn't count against him. He gave him

like 2 weeks off to take care of me (so sweet of him)

but DH just took off like the first week. Ask Dr

levin but I'm almost sure you'll need someone to

drive.

Hope this helps, Donna

Hi Joy

OMG yes try the ginger wine..warm up the tummy if nothing else. I do believe it helps and I have put so many on it and they find it helps them too and you can do so muh with it mixing it with other things not that I do. Dont give up the red but dont have any at night (cos I found out after all this time) it plays hell with pain when I have it at night.

LOL yep it is 1.8 at present at 9am and brrr but lovely.

Now hope those trees are growing after your hard work. I should have joined you with a cuppa at 1am as I too was up. My uncle passed away yesterday so it was quite an upsetting day for my father as he couldnt get to see him. It happened so fast as he had a few strokes and dementia set in within 5 months. My poor mum cant undertsand why dad is upset cos of her alzheimers so I have my hands full right now.

I think my middle name is insomnia, my avererage night is 2-3 hours but gee the bags under my eyes are starting to trip me over now, have to find a job for them. Been having a little bit more lately which is nice

Have a great day and hope you are having good weather too

Hi Joy

I have found too that I have to eat small amounts regularly rather than a large meal. I just cant handle big meals at all. I had 2 days recently at an alzheimers conference and we had lunches that I have been sooo bloated as I ate a large lunch. It effects my breathing too. certainly know now not to be polite and eat everything on my plate cos I sure do suffer after

Hi Joy

Your childhood with bronch does not sound that different to mine. I developed bronch symptoms at a young age - copious coloured sputum.. I had very poor - but frequent - medical treatment by the family dr which would have been costly to my parents. I finally changed drs when I was a teenager because of increasing symptoms & poor treatment. I was diagnosed at 19 with bronch. The diagnosing dr commented that he was surprised that it had taken so long to diagnose considering the severity of the disease. Then I had bronch in both lower lobes, the middle lobe & the lingular. I battled along for the next 3 to 4 years with physio, & antis but with little improvement. I then sort out my surgical options. I was absolutely determined to have surgery to improve my life. I was very assertive & that didn't always go down that well with these male

medicos in the 70s in Australia. I eventually had both lower lobes resected which dramatically improved my life. I dumped my previous specialist, & got a female one. Though I had refused to see him after my first surgery as he was a bit of a stumbling block in regards to the surgery.

Unfortunately the lingular was left behind & that is what is causing me grief.

I don't know if surgery is so common nowadays. In my case it was a very good move.

Keep well everyone. Theresa

Re: Mucomyst

Hi Theresa,I’m so thankful you were able to avoid the progression that widespread bronch degenerates into... Wasn’t sure if you’d known about Mucomyst – I seem to be finding about these things far too late, perhaps a reflection on where I live....I have always had copious production - even when young, & yearly infxs - & now sp is very dark green in a day. An effective “sputum eviction notice†will hopefully keep me out of hospital. Ht saline got a good result initially, but then developed persistent sore throat/bronchi, which has gone away since backing off the ht saline (10mls/day). While in hosp during April, was told prolonged, frequent & high use of ht saline can dry out the lungs & introduce infx that way. Interchanging seems to be working well - & too bad for the furniture, I can’t cope

with hospital at such a rate this past 12 mths has been!Cheers, joy

Hi Joy, many thanks for info, I'll have a good read in a mo. Just a note on the `Fun Guy', I'm sorry but I really, really don't want to see the `fun guy' again! The title `fun guy' is a sort of slang for the fungal disease known as allergic bronco-pulmonary aspergillus, or ABPA for sort. It's a rare and little known disease that can infection people who may have already sustained lung damage, like asthma sufferers, CF sufferers etc.

It's a nasty disease with no cure and the medication can in itself be dangerous. There is only one expert in the UK and he's in Manchester, 300+ miles from me but I have to see him about 2 or 3 times a year. Right across the world, ABPA is causing concern but all to often doctors fail to recognise it or even ignore it because they know so little about it.

So, I really don't want to see the fungus or `fun guy' return, I know it will because once you have it, it never goes away, but for now it seems the fungal disease is in remission, thankfully!

Hi Chip,Like Sandy I agree the pain is unusual to the extent you mention for bronch – often sore for sure, burning, muscles hurt from constant coughing and effort of getting rid of gunk etc.... But the repeat cycle of infx (infections) does – sorry! - sound very very very much like bronch...I sent off info about bronch to you, hope it helps you determine where you might fit – I would recommend you go see that ‘fun guy’ we all so love – cos infx left untreated don’t usually ‘go away’ by themselves, and cause further lung tissue damage... (sorry!). Hope it work out your dx isn’t too bad, a good fix of the right stuff will get you up and running again – and hopefully, singing. Re singing - my lungs have always been full of yuk, esp last several decades, could hardly speak, let along sing, which I loved altho

don’t have particularly good voice. Have been doing saline nebs or mucomyst, do daily physio, and when I ‘clap’ side of ribs now actually sounds hollow! And I have my voice back and enjoy singing again (too bad if others don’t!). I had given up, so I guess the moral of the story is never say never...!All the best joy

Hi Chip. How do

you know ABPA is in remission? When I was first diagnosed, I had a bad year and

half. One time the CT Scan came back as pneumonia, so we treated with

antibiotics and Vfend. I was on Vfend off and on for about 2 years.
