Just remember you are beautiful no matter what and he obviously is having

trouble recognizing that. So the issue is his - not yours.

Hello all - I would appreciate any input you may have on the following:

I have a patient who almost a stone or so a year ago following a loss of

appetite due to gastritis, he subsequently had treatment for H.pylori - when

symptoms didn't improve, he came for herbal treatment - his symptoms have now

resolved and his appetite is fine but he hasn't been able to put the weight back

on despite a good balanced diet and significant calorific increase. He's had

various scans and blood tests with no results and feels well although he feels

he could have more energy. He works full time and cycles everywhere. He is

worried that he is not absorbing his food properly because his bowel frequency

has increased, but he doesn't have diarrhoea and there are no signs and symptoms

of malabsorption. He sees an acupuncturist who has said his pulse is weaker

than it should be, but I'm afraid this doesn't mean anything to me - can anyone

explain? He comes across as quite an anxious person although he sees himself as

fairly easy going. I would welcome any suggestions or comments.

Many thanks, Isobel

Hi Isobel, just a thought but the first thing that springs to mind is gut flora.

He'll have had antibiotics for H.pylori and full normal ecosystem won't have

grown back. Diarrhoea, inefficient absorption etc can be opportunistic bugs or

just lack of the normal good ones.

How about one of the broad-spectrum, wholefood probiotics like Prime Directive

? from www.saferemedies.net plus of course the prebiotic diet
