Yahoo, discrimination and disability

Hello there,

I have really enjoyed the humour and comeraderie here..... although discussions on names for genitalia? LOL.... well, I guess I've seen everything now.... not that I'm complaining.... it just has me chuckling. It's hard to explain to children sometimes.

I was reading about problems with Yahoo.....and thinking to myself...... when do they ever not have problems.... the same thing that happened with n happened to me earlier this year. I'd go to my Yahoo group page and find 5 of my groups had vanished. It took a few days before I got it all back. It doesn't surprise me that they don't know what groups are there..... I was surfing through the various groups and found a group for rapists!!!! I was stunned and angry.... it's a wonder they don't have Homicide lovers groups!

I was going to write last night, I was feeling rather lonely, but I was fatigued as usual. I think I'm also feeling rather frustrated with our Federal Government (don't forget I'm an Australian) and their discriminatory departments and ideas. A few months ago the Treasurer stated that it wasn't the elderly who were draining the economy.... it was younger people with disabilities! I mean..... did I ask to have MS? Did I ask to be bullied and harassed from my last 2 jobs and to get no support from anyone? I get a pension..... $135.00 a fortnight.... a pittance because of my husband's wage before tax. So we struggle.... I do without. The MS Society over here have been great..... I am waiting on quotes on rennovations to keep me safer in my own home..... but how I'll afford it scares me. The other day I get a letter to say that the MS Society of New South Wales and are integrating..... why? because the government are cutting the funding! There are growing numbers of people being diagnosed now..... so they cut the funding! It surprises me that there is no Euthanasia bill put through to get rid of our burdensome presence.

It bugs me to the point of wanting to scream. I've paid taxes for 30 years and now I'm seen as rubbish! When I applied for disability....Centrelink (social security type service) over paid me... even though I had supplied them with all the details. I was shattered and angry when they were demanding I pay them back! I make mistakes and pay, but I also pay for their errors. The week after I got the bad news they overpaid me again..... and I let them know. Every time I deal with them.... they stuff up and that is no joke. My daughter, husband and I have noted at least 6 times they have stuffed us up..... but we have to pay for their incompetence.

The last time I went there, with my daughter..... they had moved the disability services area. It was conveniently downstairs before.... now where is it? Bet you can guess..... yes... up 2 flights of stairs and no lift!!!!!!! Oh there is a sign to say if we can't get up the stairs, they will come down! Yeah right..... but you have to stand in a line for 30- 45 minutes at the enquiry desk to let them know.... then wait until one of the idiots can come down to see you! Talk about moronic!

It feels better sharing this..... but I am very disappointed in how the disabled are treated. Anyway.... now that I've vented...... I shall relax. Hugs to all Rosemary

Allow yourself to ask for what you need. Allow yourself to need help, to need love, to need other people. Give yourself permission to say "This is what I need," to say it without shame, without guilt. Now allow yourself to receive what is offered.......This is a quote from - Snyder, writer.

Life is the journey..... not the destination...... unknown

That's just hurtful to read, let alone live it. {{{{{{{{Rosemary}}}}}}}}
