Guest guest
What is your progesterone regimen? My experience so far w/ bhrt is that you must have the right amount of both E and P. It's tricky to find the right dosages, but so worth it of course. I have not tried the patch - I just switched to oestrogel, and I really like it. and personally, I would go by your symptoms, rather than blood levels, and be sure you are taking adequate prog. in the right cycle for you! Guest guest
Colleen - reading your letter again makes me still think that you are too low on estrogen. everyone needs diff amounts to feel good. I am 42 and petite, but I still am using high doses of E to feel right and knock out the sypmtoms. maybe an E gel would be better for you because you can adjust the amounts as needed? Guest guest
Hi, Val, All of my thyroid tests showed good results. Had cortrysyn challenge test -- fine. Only thing endo doc turned up was vit d deficiency and hashi antibodies. Thyroid ultrasound shows "significantly abnormal gland," but doc says not an issue because replacement thyroid hormone making up for it. Colleen Valarie wrote: Thyroid? Guest guest
Hi, Christa, Good suggestion but I am a little gun shy about adjusting dosages because my endometrial ultrasound showed a 9 mm lining from all of the estrogen. Should be less than 5 mm. Next one is in November -- I'm hoping it is okay. Thanks. Guest guest
Colleen (and all): I have heard that you can cut the patches (Vliet) and I've heard that you can't. If you're not opposed to the idea of mixing products (Vliet does this all the time), you might try the Menostar match which is 14 mcg or .014 mg of estradiol OR supplementing with a little oral SR or gel. I believe that testosterone DOES help with mood..but take care and start very very slow..almost homeopathic doses (we can chat more about that off-line). Good Luck, Angie > > > > Hi, all, > > > > Has anyone had problem with the Vivelle dot patch? Guest guest
I know that the cysts do cause problems. PCOS has multiple cysts occur w/higher than normal testosterone with E not quite high enough to balance. It seems to me that if your ovary still has cysts it has not completely quieted down. Have you checked certain Vitamin and mineral levels and been tested for any gluten issues? Karin (bigbird) > > > > Hi, all, > > > > Has anyone had problem with the Vivelle dot patch?
Guest guest
Colleen, It seems like your absorption is inconsistent. I wonder if on the first day you get more E than the second and third day of wearing the patch? If you had your blood drawn on day one of the patch you might get a higher level than day three of the patch??? I have never tried any patches but I have read that they can wear off sooner than expected. I think it was Reiss who complained about patch absorption (my book is loaned out so I can not verify my memory by looking at the book). Maybe you could consider switching to oestrogel which might give you a more consistent level. I really love my oestrogel because I feel like I get a nice even level for 24 hours. I make sure and spread it out a lot. I know Dr. G says to put it on fatty areas (abdomen/thighs/butt), but I also put mine on my face/neck/back of my hands/along my spine. I can get my small 1.25-1.5 gram dose to spread on all those areas. I put it on immediately after my shower to possibly help with absorption. If you ever try it I would recommend either a scale for measuring or using teaspoons because the little stick that comes with the oestrogel is very inaccurate for me. I do use a little estradiol in olive oil on my gums to possibly help with my gum recession. I have been experimenting with using it in the afternoon to give me a little boost after lunch (so far it is helping). Kathy > > Hi, all, > > Has anyone had problem with the Vivelle dot patch?
