Guest guest
Good Morning Ladies, Has anyone tried Splenda? Does it give you a different taste from Sweet N Low or Equal? I think you can use it for cooking or baking. If you use it for baking cookies, do the cookies taste different than with real sugar? Hope you're all having a good day. Guest guest
I also like Splenda, but have not done any baking or cooking with yet. Does taste like sugar. Guest guest
LOVE Splenda. It tastes like sugar. I eat it every morning on my oatmeal! For Thanksgiving, I used it in my pumpkin pies. Couldn't tell. In fact, I didn't tell DH and he didn't notice. After he polished off the pie, I told him and he was totally amazed. I haven't tried it in cookies, but I'm sure it would work just as well. I wish it wasn't so expensive, though. I don't think I'll buy real sugar again. Guest guest
Use exact amount of Splenda that you would use Sugar. My store sells it in pourable form, not individual packets. It says on the box to use the equivilant amount of sugar. I love diet pepsi, but I only drink diet rite because there's no caffeine in that either. I was drinking Coke for years, and did a straight switch to diet rite...it was like drinking colored water at first, now it's refreshing for me. Merry Christmas, Lyn Splenda I love Splenda!!! I use it to top all sorts of things, and in coffees and teas, too. I only wish Diet Coke or Diet Pepsi would use it... (I don't like Diet Rite). How much do you use to bake? Like, if your recipe says 1 cup sugar, how much Splenda would you use? Thanks. Guest guest
VERY IMPORTANT!!! If you use Splenda for baking and you use the packets, you can use half as much. Don't know why, but 1 tsp of packet Splenda sweetens like 2tsp sugar, so be sure to read the box!!! -:¦:- For unto us a child is born.... -:¦:-. -:¦:- Remember the reason for -:¦:- -:¦:- -:¦:- The Season! -:¦:- -:¦:- ((¸¸.·´*Semalee -:¦:- Splenda I love Splenda!!! Guest guest
Splenda has no points, while it is made from sugar, it is what is called a 'left handed product' (don't ask me why), as it is restructed somehow. Your body will not absorb it, so it costs us no calories. Eileen ******************************************** If you think you can, or you think you can't... you're right!!! Guest guest
So how would you cook with it? How do you modify the recipies so that you can compensate with the no points for splenda? I am still so new at this......
