Sam, your olive oil treatment makes a lot of sense to me. There have also

been many other good suggestions. The one I favor is to grease your feet up

and put on socks overnight, to protect the sheets. You have had a toe

amputation, which indicates serious circulatory problems. You are not a

person who should be sandpapering his feet, since your circulatory system is

impaired. You could be doing irreparable harm to your feet.

Sam, I'm glad to have you on the list, you old trooper, you! Please continue

taking care of yourself, your feet, and your wife. I don't want you to lose

any more toes!

Hugs,

Susie

Hand up.. I'll give you my recommendation also: Colloidal Oatmeal. It

helps me greatly when I have dry skin from overshowering, or my hot tub.

>From the label:

" Contains colloidal oatmeal for prompt temporary relief of itchy,

scaling, sensitive skin in a base that also includes canola gel (from

canola oil) which helps form a natural moisture saving barrier over

skin. Formulated with Ginko Biloba for it's soothing and anti-oxidant

benefits. Echinacea and St. 's Wort for their antiseptic,

anti-blotching properties and skin nourishing Vitamins A, E and D.

It's cheap also.. Around $7.00 for 18fl oz. in a pump bottle. I have the

URL if anyone is interested.

Sam Levy makes a good point about us being our own spin doctors. But Sam, my

sense of the situation was that if you didn't have some nerve damage, you

would have felt enough pain, early enough, that you wouldn't have had to lose

a toe. You said your doc said there was no circulatory problem, but how about

nerve damage?

Susie

<< Susie, my toe doc thought I had a circulatory problem until he started to

operate, the needle sticks for local anesthetic all bled profusely. My

trouble was simply skin rubbed off between 2 toes, and the fluid

leakage caused a bacterial growth. I was offered no test, no antibiotic and

the treatment caused the skin to retreat and expose the bone, which became

infected. >>

Done, it's now on sale btw.. $6.56 for the 18oz bottle.

I have no connection with selling the stuff, I just like what it does

for me.

Susie, I don't know, would you feel a rubbed off skin between toes?

Yes I have lots of damage, though I thought I was on track, but it all

cumulates. I stepped on a sewing needle that had fallen to the rug, when

I crossed the floor to close a window. It went in eye first, and the

only reason I noticed it was my foot would not sit flat on the floor. I

pulled it pliers, no infection. Sam
