Guest guest Posted December 3, 2010 Report Share Posted December 3, 2010 My colleagues, I need your advice on a new case I will have on sunday: 4 y/o male lab, hip displasia just had denervation done this week and the owner wants me to go see his dog for a consult. Dog is ambulating now with no pain. Over phone I told owner to leash the dog for a week and control the dog's activities so it does not overdo it now that feels no pain. What have you all done for this type of cases? Will the hip damage get worst since the dog does not feel pain but damage still happening at the hip joint? You vet surgeons, which nerve in particular is the one that gets " cut " and at which point: root? Will the dog have changes in deep pain sensation, hot and cold, any other damages that may result secondary to the surgery. Anything else I should look for would be greatly welcomed. Thanks. Tony Valenzuela DPT, Ed.D., CCRT Redlands CA Paws of Love Canine Rehabilitation Clinic Re: TREATMENT SESSIONS for snowbirds here in Canada, i think we are considered snow birds, and i know several clients who go to arizona to escape our winter. we charge a flat rate as too many people get 'sticky' about different rates. we ALWAYS send owners with a home program, and have it on a sheet so they can tick off the boxes as they are done... i think some rehab places focus more on the underwater treadmill and less on exercises.
