It was on this day in 1972 that the first group of Nixon's burglars was busted for their Watergate break-in, hence, today's 'Watergate Day' energies. You might think I would be posting advice about easy ways to keep secrets during this day, but I chose instead to segue another way. If you or someone you love suffers from a sore throat caused by allergies, post-nasal drip, viral infection or even smoking, then chances are an overactive schedule is partially to blame. Sore throats appear when, among other reasons, the immune system is somehow compromised through a lack of rest and improper or inadequate nutrition. Also to be considered is if there is fever or enlarged or swollen lymph notes present along with the sore throat, or if it continues longer than a few days. In any of these aforementioned cases medical attention is prescribed and called for. But if you're simply suffering from a run of the mill soreness, then you might benefit from this remedy: add two teaspoons of apple cider vinegar to one cup of warm water and gargle a mouthful, spit it out and then gargle again but this time you will swallow. Do this over and over until the cup is empty. Time yourself and then do it all over again an hour later. My understanding is that usually by the fourth or fifth hour the sore throat is completely healed, even if that cider vinegar leaves a lingering yucky taste in your mouth. It can't be as bad as the one that Nixon must have had lingering in his. At least this Deep Throat won't be sore!
