Guest guest
I have a question for anyone and everyone...I'm quite frustrated with my boss. Don't get me wrong, she's a wonderful woman who has been far more understanding than most bosses would be. She even offered to let me take the whole summer off if I felt like I needed it or wanted to. She seems to think if I " take it easy " over the summer then I'll be fine come fall. Summer is easier to cover my shift because there are always people to work extra hours in the summer time. Fall will be a different story. I understand this, but frankly need all the hours I can get just to keep the bills paid. My husband's salary covers the monthly bills and groceries, but just barely. My pay goes into the bank for stuff like homeowner's insurance, property taxes and the like. We don't have a traditional mortgage, so I have to pay those big items in lump sum when they are due; they don't come out of a monthly mortgage payment like most people. Here's my question...in any of your experiences out there, if you take time off work (not just because you're having a flare or whatever and can't work) when you feel up to working, are you " better " later. I would think I'll be just as likely to have a flare in the fall as I am to have one mid-summer working or not. The way I see it, there will probably come a time when I can no longer work. I'm still in my 30s and plan to live for a very long time with an illness that will continue to progress worse and worse as time goes by. How it will happen and when I have no idea, but I plan on LIVING with stills not dying from it. Why should I lay down and quit now? Anyway, anyone's opinion or experience would be appreciated and helpful. Thanks, April
