Moderator Note: (Lyndi) I just took the survey discussed in the following email.

I aimed all my answers at the continuing free service features.

Yahoo is not planning to do away with the free service that we use now. They

will however be putting a limit on storage - 5 MB for files, 5 MB for email etc.

For a long time group like ours, this could eventually effect how many email or

files will remain available.

We currently don't have very many photos in our photo section, so that wouldn't

be effected. They will also limit message size (with attachments) to 500K. Since

we do not allow attachments and our messages are not large, that will not effect

how this group's email operates, but could effect other groups you may belong

to. The survey isn't complicated. It took me about 10 minutes to complete. I

answered " neutral " to quite a few of the questions.

Now -- on to Qeenka11's message!!!

*************

Yahoo is making plans to introduce a premium Yahoo Groups service.

This means not all groups would remain free. This wouldn't be

horrible, except that it looks like they're talking about downgrading

the free groups where they have considerably less storage space than

they do now.

So FIGHT BACK!!!

Yahoo has a survey going on right now asking Yahoo Groups users what

they would think about this premium service.

Please take this survey and make it clear to Yahoo that you do not

want to pay for groups and that you don't think any features/storage

space should be taken away from free Yahoo Groups.

There is one place in the survey where Yahoo asks you to write any

features you would like to see groups have. Please use this space to

tell them you're against premium groups.

Here is the URL for the survey:
