Guest guest
I have been working with an 11yr Golden Retriever that had a bilateral hip denervation in July 2010. Post surgery she was diagnosed with an iliospsoas strain on the right. We have been treating her with laser, e-stim, massage, and weight bearing exercises (physioball, balance board). She is on alot of meds (pred, tramadol, gabopentin, & robaxin) She has had 3 acupuncture treatments (once per week) and rehab appts twice weekly for 8 weeks. She began improving 2 wks ago, but is now worse again. Grade 3/4 lameness, painful on internal rotation of the right pelvic limb, spasms in the adductor, pectineus, quadriceps muscles. I know that prednisone is not the best for her with a muscle strain, but that is what the surgeon prescribed and it is the only medication that seemed to help her pain (early on). Can anyone give us suggestions for this sweet girl
