Jeff and Jan,I do not have PG, CD or Crohns. I have EN and have for over 30 years. Lately, at the encouragement of a friend, I started exploring a gluten free diet. One of the books I am reading right now sites several reports on Crohns, IBS, UC, Lupus, asthma and much more with a gluten sensitivity and great success with those studied, who after removing gluten from their diets showed remarkable improvements.I know for me, I have experienced a difference in my skin since avoiding gluten-now for only 2 weeks. My friend, who had terrible digestion problems, has been gluten free for 6 months and is elated at how much her life has changed for the better. I am making it a goal this year to avoid gluten and see what happens. And will try to track it as much as possible along with the other things I am doing to relieve my EN.Just a thought. best, ML Gemmill Welcome Jan,I am glad you finally got your log-in problem solved. Or at least I hope it is, you're here, that's all that counts.Jan and I have been conversing for a week or so about PG. We share many similar circumstances, in fact, she and I have frighteningly similar CD and PG cases.I am hoping some of our PG members in here will come out and spur on some PG discussion. Jan has been through a lot and has tons of info to share. She is extremely open to listening to other's ideas on the subject and would like more ideas.Thank you for being here Jan!Jeff,CD,PG,IMED>> Jeff was nice enough to tell me about this forum, thanks for doing that Jeff!> > I was diagnosed with Crohn's in '95, had EN, sometime in the late 90's, then PG in '98 and now, once again have PG. ML,Have you looked into grinding your own grain? There is a great site called "The Bread Beckers" at www.breadbeckers.com and the woman who writes it has a science degree in Food Science (more biochem less nutrition and meal planning). She writes extensively on wheat and you can read her articles for free on their site. What she had to say was amazing. She talks about how by eating the actual "whole grain" you can over come things such as IBS and Crohns. My family has been grinding our own grain since 2006. My husband used to struggle with hypoglycemia and no longer does. We're big fans of Sally Fallon and the Weston A. Price Foundation as well, and have been drinking raw milk since 2006. If I could recommend any book in regards to food I'd have to say start reading The Untold Story of Milk by Dr. Ron Schmid (of www.drrons.com). It was amazing and I'm not a huge fan of non-fiction reading. I'm looking into the milk diet as a possible cure for my EN. Will keep everyone posted. I was curious do you think that milk thistle capsules would be just as good as the tincture? Have you tried them?Regards,To: erythema_nodosum_Group From: littlesumo@...Date: Thu, 14 Jan 2010 19:36:56 -0800Subject: Re: Re: New to this forum

Thanks! This is great info ! My sister was just talking about this earlier today. She and my mother get so frustrated for me with my EN and how long I have had to deal with it.She has been doing her own research on whole diets and meal planning. She is an incredible chef, and sadly, I am not. I spend most of my day writing and the last thing I want to do is prepare food. Although I eat very healthy, I am not a big meal preparer, but it seems to be looking like I need to have balance in my life including preparing food. Balance seems to be the key in dealing with this EN as well. re: Milk Thistle. I like the droppers for some reason. Maybe because it has faster absorption? At least it feels like it. I do it first thing in the morning 30 drops in my juice, and then I am done. They say you shouldn't take it more than several weeks in a row. So I have decided I will do it for a month and then take six months off and do it again. I have to say I felt a HUGE difference after taking it.best,ml ML Gemmill ML,Have you looked into grinding your own grain?
