Guest guest
KAREN--Have y'all gotten 's cookbook? If not, give her a holler... VBowen1067@.... I know she's got another link to it... Also, how's your mood doing? Carbohydrates and sweets release serotonin in our brain. Serotonin is a neurotransmitter that allows us to send messages between brain cells. The speed and facility with which this is done is one of the things that affects our mood. If you have a tendency to be depressed--which you may not be aware of (and which may have changed since your surgery)--your body may be trying to get more serotonin by making you 'hungry' for carbs and sweets. You can counteract this by getting good brain chemicals going another way--through exercise and new experiences, making sure your body has adequate protein (so it has no excuse for being 'hungry'), and keeping track of your mood to make sure a dip in your brain chemicals isn't happening. Get Vic's cookbook too; lot's of good, sugar-free stuff there too! Love, Ava Lee In GastricBypass-InfoCentral@y..., GingerAlly@a... wrote: > I am having a terrible time staying with my eating. Guest guest
KAREN--Sure thing, hon. You need anything else, please let me know! I remember reaching a point, too, where my hunger for carbs, my grazing, got to be more than I thought it should be... (It DID pass, though!) It's something we usually have to work at some, so don't feel bad. Love, Ava Lee In GastricBypass-InfoCentral@y..., GingerAlly@a... wrote: > Ava, thanks for all the practical advice.
