In need of stinky feet and/or foot fungi

Hi all,

I got a small box of the dried root of Sorbaria sorbifolia in my snailmail,

with a letter saying that a Russian researcher has found it to be effective

for smelly feet, and for " candida " (which I expect is one or the other tinea

that hits feet).

Tkachenko, K. G.: " New Data about using Sorbaria sorbifolia (L.) A. Br. " .

World Conference on Medicinal and Aromatic Plants, Hungary 2001.

And a request to pretty please use it and report back.

A recipe is given: boil 20-30 g dried root in 3-5 dl water for 15 minutes,

strain, pour decoction into footbath, put roots back, boil'em up in 1.5-2 dl

water and let that boil for 15 minutes, strain, pour that decoction into the

first, and repeat with another 1.5 - 2 dl water.

Let the feet sit in the hot liquid for 15-20 minutes daily, morning or night.

According to Tkachenko, the feet don't sweat excessively anymore after 3 days,

and the smell disappears for 5-7 days.

(A local foot therapist school had their students try this out; they did a 3

days on, 5 days off, 3 days on, 5 days off regimen, and some clients were

disappointed that the sweat (but not the smell) was back in the pauses, after

2-4 days.)

Again according to Tkachenko, foot fungi are gone after a total of 10-15

footbaths.

(The same 3-5-3-5... regimen resulted in better feet over the course of 15

days with drier skin between the toes; there was even some improvement in

toenail fungus.)

If anybody has lots of foot sweaty folks, or lots of foot fungi people, and

would like to give this a try, let me know. My email address is

hetta@... .

Happy New Year,

Henriette
