Guest guest
Hello from the Soto Ramos family. We are a family of six in Michigan. Laila 15(born with bilateral cleft lip and palate) 14 (obnoxious teen) Rhaisa 10 (thinks she's awesome) and Aniza 3 (MDS) My husband and I are both full time premed students. At one point I tried serving as National Vice President to IMDSA but, life got in the way. I hope to one day be able to serve the organization again in any way. Well, enough about us. Aniza is now 3, we found out about her condition when she was about 17 months old. (Our story is on Mosaic Moments) She seems to have difficulties with her speech even though she knows how to get exactly what she wants when she wants. We are celebrating that this week she said two complete sentences. She made a huge mess in the bathroom and when I asked what happened here? She smiled and said I did that! And then she locked herself and the cat in the laundry room and started screaming " Open the door!! " So to say the least, we are very excited. Otherwise, she seems to be quite healthy. She doesn't seem to have any heart condition or any delays in any other skill area. So we are holding on to the hope that this will be her only delay. Besides that she loves music, dancing and singing. She also loves having her picture taken and taking pictures. The local paper has done a story on her and she now thinks she's the local celeb. And so do we!! At least she's the celeb in our family. She's one big ham and I don't think our lives would be this wonderful without her. Our teens adore her and their lives revolve around her. And our 10 year old is her best friend. We hope that life is pretty normal for her, but if it's not, we will tailor ours to hers. It's been great reading about all of you.
