JeanI would suggest that treatment could focus on body medicine: making sure that the eustruchen tubes are unblocked to allow movement of lymph and blood- cranial/sacral work and/or massage of head and neck. Gentle lymphatics, diaphoretics to start moving stasis - hot epsom salt baths. Accupressure or Accupuncture. Hi all

Wondered if anyone could offer some advice. New patient yesterday with recurrent ear infections since summer. Came and went early summer but now dull and constant which if not managed by drops and painkillers can flare up each evening triggering full blown migraine.

Patient is profoundly deaf, uses two hearing devices which gives minimum help but connect her to the hearing world. She removes these overnight only. She has severe crohns disease so is very restricted with food which makes dietary advice very difficult.

I want to be able to treat internally and topically but am restricted with topical treatments to a certain extent because her hearing aids need to be kept unblocked. Just wondered if anyone had any suggestions?

Hi JeanTry garlic oil massaged around the ear (as well as placed in if possible). Hypericum or the obvious verbascum flower are also good.SallyJeanI would suggest that treatment could focus on body medicine: making sure that the eustruchen tubes are unblocked to allow movement of lymph and blood- cranial/sacral work and/or massage of head and neck. Hi Just wondering how old your patient is.You say she is using prescribed drops so maybe no reason why she couldn't also use herbal drops. If a hearing aid ear mould does get blocked it can be cleared using something fine enough, it's the actual hearing aid that mustn't get wet or bunged up.Use creams around the outside of the ear using similar herbs that you might use internally, plus some EOs such as tea tree. Might be useful to know what the bug is, or whether is it a chronic inflammation. Thanks everyone. My patient is 33 years of age. its very difficult to prescribe cranial work and reflexology when i am already charging her as a herbalist and she is on sickness benefit as a result of her crohns. She has a limited budget. All your advice is very welcome though. I will advise and its her choice then. xSent from Samsung Mobile
