Guest guest
I'm wondering what you all think of the use of NSAIDS with a psoas strain?- There are more articles now about the treatment of psoas problems, some with contradictory treatments. I have never been a big fan of NSAIDS for soft tissue issues in general. They seem most effective with OA of various joints. The problem is I find other clinics prescribe them for an undiagnosed musculoskeletal problem that is not getting any better so the client might call me( not a direct referral per se but I still hate usurping that clinic because I'm not their regular vet). I have told a few to stop the NSAID since it's not helping anyway...I have read differing info on NSAID use for this problem among our rehab colleagues- Laser therapy seems to be the most consistent treatment and NSAIDs are of course anti-inflammatory but don't seem to help here- the more I think about it, the more confused I become!!!What do you think helps the most in these chronic strains and I'm thinking of dogs that have been symptomatic for months walking or limping around with an incorrect diagnosis on various drug therapies? Thanks everyone!Carole Nicholson DVM, CCRT, CVSMTIiiiiiiiiiiiiiI
