Guest guest
Paxil withdrawl is horrid. It took me a year to get off it. Are you tapering off Paxil slowly? I had crazy times too and I slowed the rate of Paxil reduction to get through them. I never increased my dose, but did have periods of several months between dosage reductions. I wanted to get off fast, but having previously experienced accidental cold turkey withdrawals twice I knew I couldn't go there. The really bad one happened when the pharmacy called the wrong Dr. for a refill and it was Friday and I was out. I spent the weekend rolled in the fetal position crying and shaking and rambling. So - I went slow, but steady to get of Paxil. Are you taking anything else as you reduce the Paxil? I now take Wellbutrin - which works differently so you can take it at the same time as Paxil. When my anxiety climbed I added celexa. Don't forget - slow but steady wins the race! Guest guest
Thank you for sympathizing, Barbara. Yes, I am tapering slowly and properly off of Paxil. Paxil withdrawal is extremely difficult. It's hard to describe to someone who hasn't experienced it firsthand. > > > > Since difficulties arose in reducing Paxil, the SSRI that I have been taking - i.e. Acute anxiety, CNS sensitivity, depersonalization and feelings of unreality - I have been using mindfulness as a tool to contend with these difficulties with varying degrees of success, so they have less impact and influence over life. > >> >
