Guest guest
I have successfully treated a number of people using a traditional 'Liver Cleanse' using a specific olive oil and pink grapefruit mixture, preceeded by epsom salts, over a 2 day period. If you are interested, I can send you the protocol. Kindest Regrads, Arwel Mr Arwel Mb BCh Dip Phyt DIHom Consultant Herbalist, Senior Practitioner in Complementary and Alternative Medicine Better Health Clinic, Chester, author of 'The Friendly Guide to Allergy.' -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Gallstones Dear all, I have a patient coming who has been diagnosed with multiple small gallstones and wishes to avoid surgery. Has anyone had any success with this or is there any advice you can offer? I haven't treated before and wasn't sure if I should be worried about overstimulating bile causing obstruction? The patient is a slightly underweight vegetarian in her early eighties and is concerned about cutting out calories and losing more weight. I don't have further details as yet, but any input would be welcome. thanks, Isobel

Guest guest
Dear Arwell , How do you deal with the risk of such a procedure causing a gallstone to get blocked in the cystic duct . ? Guest guest
Thanks for all your interests in this. I have posted a copy of the protocol, which includes the ingredients you need and the amounts etc., on my website www.betterhealthclinic.co.uk in the section on Books -> Factsheets. You can download it from here, but there is a small fee (95p) for postage, which I cannot seem to get rid of despite it being a download rather than something that is actually posted out! My apologies for this. The risk of a stone actually getting stuck is minimal, in my opinion. Using Epsom salts seems to help dilate the ducts, and if the stone can be passed through the sphincter out of the gall bladder itself it can easily get through the duct itself from then on. Over the past 11 years of recommending the cleanse to many dozens of patients, some with large stones and some with smaller ones, I have not had any problems of this nature. However, I do tell people that this is a small, theoretical risk, and that they must decide themselves whether they are happy to carry out the proceedure. Most are happy to try this rather than resort to surgery! I hope this helps. If anyone wants any specfic help or want to chat about it in more details, do let me know and I would be happy to help.
