There are monographs produced by ESCOP, by the European Medicines Agency (HMPC) and of course as well as the British Herbal Pharmacopeia there is the British Herbal Compendium. There are also monographs from across the pond from the American Herbalists Guild and HerbalGram.

I am looking for suggestions for herbal reference resources that the statutory authorities could use as an official reference for herbal medicine in South Africa. Suggestions so far have been for the German Commission Monographs and the BHP. Can anyone suggest other comprehensive references for phytotherapy?

The BHMA produced " A Guide to Traditional Herbal Medicines " as a sourcebook of EU references considered by the editors to be  suitable as official references for the statutory authorities.

 

There are monographs produced by ESCOP, by the European Medicines Agency (HMPC) and of course as well as the British Herbal Pharmacopeia there is the British Herbal Compendium. There are also monographs from across the pond from the American Herbalists Guild and HerbalGram.
